About Us

The  Carter Compassion Center is a nonprofit organization  established in Carter County, Tennessee as a united effort between area churches and nonprofits.  The center serves a liaison to connect people rebuilding their lives with a network of resources.

Our Beginnings

In 2019, the Carter County Commission Board created a task force to investigate poverty and homelessness within Carter County.  The findings were alarming. According to 2019 data, 23.5 % of Carter County residents were living in poverty. The study also determined the county had an array of services that did not collaborate.  Navigating the resources was difficult and time-consuming. The county needed a resource hub that would become a liaison between the resources and the families needing assistance. From this new knowledge, the Carter Compassion Center was birthed with the vision: Compassion Consolidated.

Our Goal

Our goal is to provide individuals and families with a plan of action along with a mentor who will guide them through the process in a convenient “one-stop” facility. Our desire is that our clients thrive and become contributing members of society.
